Innovative Solar Solutions
ClamSat is lunar power biomimicry engineered from the giant clam soecies. On the reef, Tridacna does what no ordinary solar panel can: it gathers light across a wide arc, filters damaging radiation, focuses useful wavelengths, and survives heat, glare, and constant environmental assault inside a protective bivalve shell. We took that living architecture and rebuilt it for the Moon—hemispherical concentrated photovoltaics, clam-inspired shielding, and a rugged shell designed for 14-day nights, dust, radiation, and temperature swings that would break conventional arrays. Each unit is not a flat collector waiting for perfect noon; it is a biomimetic energy farm meant to stay online when the lunar environment is at its worst.
That same design is the foundation of the lunar grid. ClamSat units are modular and stackable so outposts, rovers, habitats, and in-situ operations can grow from a single node into a resilient network—harvesting during the long day, storing through the long night, and distributing power across crater rims and polar sites. The giant clam’s lesson is endurance with elegance: capture more of the sky, protect the harvest, and keep working. ClamSat turns that lesson into infrastructure for a permanent lunar presence—power that is scalable, durable, and modeled on a creature that already mastered light in a hostile world
